COD MW3 servers suck bigtime, and I can definitely see why the GC guys don't want to waste a single calorie on them.
If the devs were to provide a handful of documentation for the servers, working example config files instead of the currently broken ones, less than 13GB of installation files and a working and documented multiple-instance system, then running MW3 may be interesting. But atm I don't see why anyone would want to run that POC.
MW3 seemed almost perfect but PC still having problems? Damn...guess it really is too good to be true. Well you never know they might release and update about the dedicated servers so like you said, maybe
We can add MW3 as game (properties etc) but won't be hosting the files any time soon - 14Gb is rediculous for a dedicated server, and if we cut it down to the minimum we can't autoupdate using hlds-update.
Let me know if just having the basic setup in GC with you providing the files would be of value.

Yes, that would be great.
I almost always use my own files and don't download them from GameCreate. Only updates.
I am hosting them on Windows so I need to update them manually anyway. Autoupdate won't work with windows.
So I would be happy if you added the game (even without the files).

Any news about adding the MW3 to the control panel?
Now I need to use some other entry of a game to run MW3 with GameCreate.
Which is working fine, but it doesnt see the players and statistics.
// Second //
GameCreate added as a function with all Battlefield Games the serverport and gamespyport. The gamespy or query port is used for query failures of course.
Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 have the serverport settings and for gamespy: <gc:eval>%server:port%+13333</gc:eval>.
So when changing the gameserver port the gamespyport will change automatically too and query failure works fine.
Now Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam aren't configurated this way on the control panel.
So running a second gameserver on the same machine won't work. Because GameCreate only checks port 23000 (the standard query and gamespyport).
Can you make Battlefield 1942 and Vietnam query and gamespyports on the same way like on Battlefield 2 and 2142.
The fix is really easy, add:
game.setGameSpyPort "<gc:eval>%server:port%+13333</gc:eval>"
Inside the Battlefield 1942 and Vietnam config and change the query failure scan port to serverport + 13333 too.

When will it be added? We are some months further now.
You don't need to add the files. People can download and update the files themself by using the HLDsUpdateTool. You should also know that steam games don't have any special and seperate dedicated server installations with smaller and less files.
So you can wait as long as you want, but he 13-14GB is never going to be smaller for a dedicated server installation. Just like with all other Steam supported games.
