Unfortunately the forums have been a low priority for the GC team for over a year. After all, they don't make any money off of the free use of GC, so it's somewhat understandable, but I agree it's sad.
GC doesn't have any non-game applications, such as Procon and other third-party RCON tools, from before, and I'd say that's highly unlikely to change. After all, there are so many of them (sometimes several for each game) that it would take a lot of effort to maintain them all.
Could it not be setup to provide the ability for adding "Other Applications", and then allow us to add the executable file?
Like I could add a folder in the GC folder, say for example "Procon" folder, and then I add in the GC panel a new application, and edit the appropriate lines like the location of the executable file location.
GC would then be able to start/restart/stop the application, and hopefully restart on crashes, which I guess would require querying the service.
Myself, I would like it more for the daily restart feature.
I, too, would greatly welcome the addition of a feature in GC where users can add applications themselves. Unfortunately, considering the priorities of the GC team over the last couple of years, this is not likely to happen.
What you of course can do, is to just pseudo-install any game and rename the Procon executable to whatever that game's exe is called. You will need to turn off server querying on the host since otherwise GC will just keep restarting Procon every few minutes. We use this method successfully for running DayZ servers under the existing arma2 game.
Yes, that is the correct procedure. But there's no need to actually install Terraria: Hit "Advanced Options" on the installation screen after selecting the game to install. Then uncheck "Automatically keep this software installation up to date" and check "Do not download, the game software is already physically installed in the required location". Then just put the procon directory in Terraria's place, and make sure to rename both the directory and the exe-file.
If you disable querying on a host, none of the servers on that host will be queried. You can disable querying from the host's configuration page in your root domain.
