|
|
I tried to reinstall some server files and I choose to undo the select radio button for "Stop affected game servers while update is in progress". Anyway this function didn't work, it just stopped the gameserver and says "updating".
But now the reinstall is ready and the gameserver keeps saying updating and I can't fix it. I already tried to reinstall again and do select the radio button, but when reinstall is ready it still says updating. So i cant even start the gameserver anymore. Really weird bug.
Please help!

You'll need to turn the GC client off for about 5 minutes, at which point you should get the option to mark servers as stopped, and the update should fail(even though it's actually updated properly).
You should be able to start up the GC client again and then start servers. |

Again same problem is here at .us domain....
Day of Defeat Source and Team Fortress 2 keep saying "OrangeBox update: waiting for host" for 8 hours....
It''s not possible to end the update, not even when you turn off the Gamecreate client... Maybe this function can be build in to cancel it, because this is very annoying. Servers are offline all the time. |

Which is your GC domain again DieHard?
Would like to take a closer look at what's going on there. |

Can you email us about 5 or 10 minutes worth of GC client logs. Have a go at installing something else during the logging period also.
Make sure you have
log-file gamecreate.log
in your ini file. (or whatever log file name you want to use)

I'm having the same issue. I was manually updating the Americas Army 3 server when GameCreate tried to update it as well. Now I'm stuck in Updating status and I can't restart my server.
We are at vx9.us.gamecreate.com. |

Looking at your domain PapaBear it seems as if your servers are up and not stuck in an update loop.
Is this still a problem? |

Thanks, Steve. No. Problem fixed. I logged in with an account that had higher permissions than the one I was using to manage our AA servers, and I was able to see the link to cancel the Update. My next question is is there a way to turn off Automatic Updates without reinstalling the game? I get the update files directly from the provider, so I don't need to use Automatic Update. |

You need to use the remove game option but leave files on the server, then reinstall with using the files already in place option, and turning off the auto-updates.
The option is only available at the time the game is installed. |
